13-year old Founder & CEO, Mikaila Ulmer buzzes to the DMV to launch her award-winning lemonade with demos and special events during Mother’s Day weekend
Me & the Bees Lemonade has announced the launch of their product into Whole Foods Market’s Mid-Atlantic Region (Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey). Me & the Bees Lemonade will be available in all stores in the Mid-Atlantic region beginning May 11.

At the age of four, Mikaila launched her business from her home in Austin, Texas after she was stung by a bee… twice in one week. Her parents encouraged her to research the bees and she learned how beneficial they are to our ecosystem and that they were dying. Like many kids, she wanted to know what she could do to save the bees, so she started a lemonade stand. What’s unique about Me & the Bees Lemonade is that it uses Mikaila’s Great Granny Helen’s recipe with all natural ingredients including honey and flaxseed. Five years later at age 9, Mikaila pitched her product on Shark Tank and today, at age 13, Me & the Bees Lemonade is buzzing off the shelves in Whole Foods Market locations and other natural and organic grocers across the country.
Me & the Bees Lemonade is a premium ready-to-drink bottled lemonade sweetened with honey and provides a fun twist on the classic beverage with flavors like Mint, Prickly Pear, Ginger and Half Tea and Lemonade. With 10 percent of the profits shared with organizations fighting hard to save the honeybees through Mikaila’s Healthy Hive Foundation, she encourages everyone to “Buy a bottle… save the Bees.”
Me & the Bees Lemonade will roll out in Whole Foods Market Mid-Atlantic Regional stores in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia with special events and demos over Mother’s Day weekend, May 11-13, 2018. The product is available in Whole Foods Market cold boxes at $3.49 per bottle. Future demos are scheduled in additional Whole Foods regional stores throughout the summer season.
